I created a suite of animations for the University of Florida’s new series, Research Time, for their Instagram and Youtube Shorts.
Call to Action
Provide knowledge, be informed on university researchAudience
College students and younger
Objective
Create a repeatable and engaging video series that allows the video team to slot in different researchers to a standard format
Deliverables
5 animated backgrounds with 3 variations of speech bubble assets, all interchangeable
Set of 17 motion icons for the title intro of each video; interchangeable for researchers of all subject backgrounds

Process
I created a list of UF and Florida-related ideas for the Video and Social teams. We collaboratively brainstormed concepts. After each meeting and draft, I organized final notes in Trello to keep ideas aligned and on track.

For both the animated textures and icons, I hand-sketched drawings, bringing them into Illustrator and Photoshop.
I used the Timeline feature in Photoshop to create
frame-by-frame animations.

I came to meetings with drafts each to every other week, where we discussed how the visuals could be used and interpreted in depth. In between, I got informal input from various individuals on multiple teams, often due to their positive curiosity about the project.
Final animations were packaged in After Effects, handed off to the Video Team.
